Postnatal Doula Care

Bringing your new baby home can be an overwhelming experience and parents typically need additional support and TLC as they learn to adjust.  My compassionate care and support for your new or growing family during this early transitional period empowers you to feel more confident in your abilities as first time parents or as parents learning how to navigate life with more than one child. I have a deep respect for the family structure and know how to balance information in a way that will empower you to care for your baby and trust your own judgement, while at the same time offering you guidance and support.

Our time together will allow you to feel more rested, relaxed and confident as you settle into life with your new baby.  Choosing the care of a postpartum doula, will leave you feeling more connected to your partner and baby, increase your success with breastfeeding, give you a greater understanding of the needs of your newborn and lower your less risk for postpartum depression!

My care is based on the unique needs of you and your family and we will work together to determine a plan that fits with you.  Some of the areas that I cover, but are not limited to, include:

• hands-on tools for you to learn how to care for your new

• baby's physical and emotional needs; soothing techniques, breast and bottle feeding, diaper changes, bathing...

• create a calm, nurturing and restful environment for you to bond with your baby

• spend time with your new baby or other children to provide you the opportunity to have quiet time together, connect with older children, rest/sleep or have a bath

• ensure you are well fed by preparing meals for you or shopping to fill your fridge

• help you establish a routine for your baby and family

• light house work; tidying up, doing the dishes, throwing in some laundry, running errands

• help balance family dynamics

• help you screen for postpartum mood disorders

• refer you to fabulous other professionals when you care exceeds my scope of practice
